Their obedience and worship to Allah

Angels are by nature obedient servants of Allah. The notion that angels are forced to worship Allah and they have no choice of their own is false. If such was true, then Allah would have not praised the angels for their obedience in the Qur'aan. For, someone who performs an action without his will, does not deserve praise. It is due to their great knowledge about Allah and fear of Him that the angels do not disobey Him.

Allah says in the Qur'aan, 'To Him belongs whosoever is in the heavens and on earth. And those who are near Him (i.e. the angels) are not too proud to worship Him' meaning they do not feel proud and do not refuse to worship Him, 'nor are they weary (of His worship),' meaning they do not get tired or feel bored. 'They (i.e. the angels) glorify His Praises night and day, (and) they never slacken (to do so).' [Soorah al-Ambiya (21): 19-21] They persist in their worship night and day, obeying Allah to the utmost, and they are able to do this, as Allah says (in another verse), 'who disobey not, (from executing) the Commands they receive from Allah, but do that which they are commanded.' [Soorah at-Tahrim (66): 6]
